  • Plenty of Golf Schools—Which One to Choose?

Got the golf school itch? Well don’t just stand there, scratch it! There are plenty of golf schools out there, but how do you know which golf classes the right school for you? Consider the following before you choose an academy to attend.

    1) Class Size—The lower the student to pro ratio the better. This way, your golf instruction will be more personalized as the pros will have more time to speak to each student one on one. A class with a 4:1 ratio is ideal.

    2) Certified Instructors—You want the best instructors for your buck. Make sure the schools you are interested in employ knowledgeable teachers who are certified through the Professional Golf Association (PGA), the United States Golf Teachers’ Federation (USGTA), or the Professional Golf Teachers Association of America (PGTAA) for teaching golf.

    3) Ranking—Choose only schools with high rankings, positive write-ups in magazines and good online reviews.

Do your research. Call a bunch of golf schools and ask for pamphlets and catalogs. And do not be afraid to ask for campus tours. Any accredited school would be happy to show a prospective student around the grounds. Get a feel for a couple schools before you commit to just one.
